This year, perhaps more than ever, I am especially excited to invite you to the Ashdodance International Dance Festival.
Since the events of October 7th, all of our souls have been searching for a way to digest and process the tragedy that
occurred in the south and the surrounding communities. Personally, I believe culture plays a huge part in our ability to
unpack and cope with some of the burdens of reality, and it provides us with new and sometimes surprising interpretations
of our lives here and now.
The Festival teams have sensitively and skillfully gathered and created performances that combine different styles and
eras, crafting for you a diverse and colorful program that is also relevant and current. This year, you will be able to see
Israel's biggest stars on stage, coming together through music and dance, inviting you to set aside your daily worries for a
brief moment and connect with movement and dance. Ashdod is proud to continue leading cultural activity in the country
and provide the best of local creativity for our residents and visitors.
My special thanks go out to all those working behind the scenes, driving this wonderful cultural Festival known as
Ashdodance. All respect for their unparalleled precision, hard work, courage and initiative. Despite the many difficulties and
challenges faced today, we see paramount importance in standing tall, maintaining our spirit, and uniting our ranks. Hand
in hand, we will dance towards a better and safer future.
