Greetings from the Minister of Culture to the AshdoDance Festival 2025

I am pleased to welcome visitors to the 2025 AshdoDance Festival, the largest and most
colorful international dance festival in Israel!

As we face the complex and challenging reality of recent days, the importance of cultural and
artistic events is greater than ever. The AshdoDance Festival, which has become a symbol of

creativit‫ן‬y‫מ‬a‫א‬nd‫ת‬ex‫ת‬ce‫כ‬llence in the field of dance – both in Israel and around the world - brings to
th‫ן‬e‫ה‬s‫כ‬ta‫ה‬ge‫נ‬o‫ל‬u‫י‬r‫א‬cu‫ם‬ltu‫ע‬ral and spiritual resilience as a society.

This year, under the artistic leadership of Avi Levy, the festival looks directly at our painful
current reality, and seeks to create beauty, renewal and rebirth from it. The special emphasis
on connections - between East and West, between traditional and contemporary, between
older generations and young people - reflects the cultural richness of Israeli society and its
ability to renew and grow even in challenging times.

Ashdod Dance provides a broad platform for the intergenerational connection of dance
culture in Israel. The festival will feature male and female dancers of all ages and from all
over the country, alongside Israeli superstars, presenting the best in dance in all its forms.
I thank the Mayor of Ashdod, Dr. Yechiel Lasri, for his strong support of the festival,
Attorney Gabi Knafo, Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Steering Committee, and all those
involved in making AshdoDance a reality.

I wish you all an enriching and enjoyable cultural experience throughout the AshdoDance
Festival.
