Welcome from the Artistic Director, Avi Levy

Once again, this year we are holding the Ashdodance Festival with the horrors of war raging

in the background. But the war’s persistence and its enormous costs to us will not break our

spirit. The entire festival team is determined to hold it as a living testament to Israel’s strength

and the resilience of our spirit. This year we have placed special emphasis on connections –

specifically connecting contrasts. East and West, modern and classic, veterans and youth.

while at the same time constantly renewing ourselves

The program I have formulated for the festival this year brings to the stage performances
that directly touch on today’s painful reality, alongside huge, colorful performances with thou-
sands of dancers. In, Ashdodance 2025, we are hosting local superstars such as Boaz Shara-
bi, Keren Peles, Subliminal Ve’hazel, Rami Kleinstein, Narkis, Maya Buskila and many others,
accompanied by professional dance troupes from all over the country. A special performance
in memory of the late Pini Spiegler will bring the Israeli hora to center stage, and our specialty
taverns will invite you to put your worries aside for a moment while we sing and dance
together. In Ashdoddance 2025, there is a performance that suits every taste and every age,
and I am confident that along with the enjoyment of the festival, you will also find moments
of relaxation and liberation.

A special thank you from me and our entire festival team to the Mayor of Ashdod,
Dr. Yechiel Lasri, for his uncompromising support of Ashdodance as well as all the cultural
and spiritual enterprises in the city. His standing by our side is what makes the festival possi-
ble and demonstrates its importance to the city and people of Ashdod every year.
